The fact that the Greens pulled Labour leftwards is also not nothing! I've been involved with the Green Party since the middle class irrelevance days. I'm really pleased that they have had burst of popularity. I don't think it will diminish but I do think it's actually going to be a slow grind, though always with an upwards trajectory. It was one MP for years and years, now there are five. Perhaps at the next election there might be 12, as you say.

I kept hoping I would be wrong... I was concerned that is was too soon for Zack, specifically, to stand as an MP... between Burnham and the media frenzy. It was still a great effort by the Greens and I can definitely acknowledge the value in pushing Labour to commit resources at this scale... better luck next time Greens and, hopefully, keep Zach where he is best placed until the opportune moment

Polanski did pretty well as far as I can see. Especially in a safe Labour seat. Not going to get into the weeds with this: I'm 71, lifetime Labour voter, switched to the Green Party in the local elections, not going back. I'd like my kids to live at least as long as I have, and no one is taking the climate emergency seriously except them. So that's it for me. So Labour finally acknowledged Gaza is a weeping sore of a problem. Now stop arresting priests and OAPs. Could be me in the near future.

How can you write a whole blog post on this and not mention the catastrophic failure of leadership regarding the "Zionism is racism" motion that 0.4% of entryist party members used to hijack the agenda and damage the Green's electoral prospects? Who knows how many votes that cost him

Polanski needs ti focus on a slick social media presence. He also needs to point out who Burnham is being funded by ur Chinn and Lubner, which lobbyists he’s being taken money from and why aren’t the protesters being let out of an already over crowded jail but dangerous criminals are!!

He also needs to talk about Ukraine and about a very corrupt Zelensky who’s current agenda is dragging men inc disabled into vans to go serve on front line! Plus his connections to Zionist billionaire Igor Kolomoisky who had an IsrAeli passport and Netanyahu asked him to give it up, as it “might prove embarrassing”and American journalist Gonzales Lira who was assassinated by Ukraine forces!

Palestine Action remains proscribed, protestors have had to endure years on remand before being sentenced under legal sleight of hand and undermining the trial by jury concept, a foundation of the British legal system. Until it’s not and that’s when it behaves in a democratic and inconvenient way.

I’m only here because up to 99% of my YouTube interactions are being withheld. Mind you, I’ve only been on Substack a few months and I’ve noticed strange anomalies or what AI so-called Guardrails refers to as glitches happening here also. Whether it's search history disappearing or taking up to a dozen times to interact with content. Starting to realise default operating systems perhaps have the right to manipulate?

99% right. You could look sometime at the Green Party's management problem. It is ultra-democratic without any filter mechanism to say "Is this sensible politics?" - which is why Zack could not oppose the Zionism-racism motion on his own. Nonetheless, the media response is shaming.

Brilliant piece of analysis Owen. We've pushed the dial and we need to challenge the predictable media spin.
